Ambassador H.E. Arun K. Singh inaugurated the Europe-India Technology Sourcing (EITS) conference and exhibition, 2014 at Metz, France on 09 December 2014. Mr. Philippe Leroy, Senator from Moselle and Mr. Patrick Weiten, President of Moselle General Council were also present. Organised by the Moselle Development Authority under the patronage of the Embassy of India, EITS 2014 brought together over 250 firms from France, India and other surrounding European countries. The focus of the exhibition and conference was India-Europe collaboration in materials, energy and transportation sectors. More than 70 Indian participants also attended the two day event which included exhibitions, business-to-business meetings, conferences and round-tables on various aspects of doing business with India.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador spoke of the great potential and complementarity that existed for cooperation between Indian and European firms as a new Government in India had committed itself to improve the infrastructure and creating a large manufacturing base. Ambassador said the launch of the ‘Make in India’ campaign presented excellent opportunities for intensification for collaboration between French and Indian firms.
As part of the event, Ambassador also delivered the opening remarks at the round-table organised on the subject ‘New opportunities for India-EU business relations’. A film on the Make in India campaign was also screened.
Ambassador inaugurated the booths for CEFIPRA, WTC India, India Tourism and Economic and Commercial Wing of the Embassy. Ambassador visited other exhibitors form India and interacted with Indian visitors, French businesses and local media present at the event.
